St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and the most obvious way to celebrate may not be for everyone. We usually use this holiday as a day to get together with friends and have a few drinks. Maybe you go out every year and celebrate, or maybe you stay in and don’t celebrate at all! Whatever the case may be, here are a few things you can do that don’t involve drinking, but still allow you to celebrate and have fun.
Have an Irish Breakfast - if you’re a foodie, this ones for you.
Start off St. Patrick’s Day with the best meal of the day. Breakfast. But get in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and cook a traditional Irish breakfast – Recipe here.
If you aren’t into the Irish breakfast but still want to add a bit of green to start your day, there are so many ways to make your breakfast green. Add food colouring to your pancake batter or add it to your milk. Make a green smoothie! If you don’t want to turn your breakfast green, you can also wear green, it’s a perfect way to celebrate subtly on St. Patrick’s Day. Don’t own green? Make Decorative Cookies
You can also make cookies! Get out those cookies cutters and make some St. Patrick’s Day themed cookies. Add some green icing and you’re good to go. PS: cute St. Patty’s Day cookies are also known to be extremely instagrammable.
Enjoy Some of Hozier's Tunes
This is such an easy way to celebrate this holiday. Put in your headphones and incorporate this amazing Irish musician into your daily routine – Hozier! You probably know him from his hit song “Take Me To Church”. This is one of our fav songs to play at the office here at WYL and if you haven’t listened to his whole album, it’s a must!
Learn About Ireland & Its History
This one isn’t for everyone, but if you love history, why not learn about Ireland and its history. Ireland is such a beautiful place it’s bound to have some pretty cool history. In the mean time, here are some cool facts about Ireland:

- Only 9% of the Irish population are natural redheads.
- May is generally the driest month of the year in Ireland.
- Cats now outnumber dogs by two to one as Ireland's most popular pet.

Get all of your friends together and stay in! If you want a potluck style, get everyone to bring a dish. Or, make some Irish food for everyone and listen to some Irish music. Everyone can dress in green and you can decorate your place with green balloons. There are so many different ways to make your St. Patrick’s day party your own – and it’s so easy!

Travelling and seeing the world is on a lot of people’s bucket lists these days. This might be the best activity ever. Ireland is so beautiful – so why not plan a trip there!
