Here at Wear Your Label, we love Self-Care Sunday. It’s a day that we can just relax and do something for us. Even if that means watching Netflix in bed all day long.

Although it’s nice to just lie around sometimes, what about some other options? In Fredericton, there are so many things to do, and we love to keep it local. Here’s some things you can do around town to spice up your self-care Sunday:

  1. Grab a Latte at Read's Newsstand & Cafe

So many Fredericton locals love Read's and it's no secret as to why. The atmosphere is extremely warm and welcoming and staff are just as lovely. The patio out front is a great spot to enjoy coffee with friends. You can't go wrong at this Fredericton favourite.

  1. Paint a mug at the Clay Café

The Clay Café is a classic Fredericton favourite. No matter how old you are, it’s always so much fun. You can paint anything from alien figurines to mugs and dishes! There are so many different colours and ways to paint your piece. There are also cute square tiles that are perfect for decorating. The best part is coming back and picking up your piece, it’s so fun to see it all finished.

  1. Wander around Downtown Fredericton

Fredericton is so quaint, unique, and relaxed. Downtown is a hub for community get-togethers and family friendly activities. There are tons of cute shops and stores and Officer’s Square is the perfect spot to throw a Frisbee or have a picnic. If you’re lucky you’ll get to see the Queen’s Guard’s walking around.

  1. Treat yo'self to a pastry at Chess Piece Pâtisserie

Located in the heart of downtown Fredericton, Chess Piece is a must. Perfect for coffee and macarons with friends, or some alone time getting some work done on your computer, Chess Piece is the perfect spot. The atmosphere is so friendly and chic and the staff is equally as amazing.

  1. Visit an Art Gallery

Downtown Fredericton is home to a handful of art galleries including the Lord Beaverbrook Gallery, Gallery 78 and Gallery on Queen for your Self-Care Sunday viewing pleasure.

  1. Discover The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is another Fredericton favourite. The patio is a perfect place to grab a bite to eat and watch the sunset on the river. Dessert? Grab a couple scoops of cold ice cream. Head up to the top of the Lighthouse and enjoy the amazing views of Fredericton from new heights. Good food and great views, what more could you ask for?

  1. Hang out at DIP Pool Bar & Grill

Right on the Saint John River is the DIP Pool Bar & Grill located in the Delta. Open for everyone, you can grab a bite and enjoy the views or go for a swim and cool off. What better way to end the weekend than relaxing by the pool and enjoying amazing food?

  1. Walk Along The Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge

The Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge is one of the most recognized attractions in Fredericton. Formerly used as a train bridge, it’s not used and loved by many cyclists and pedestrians. Taking a stroll on the Walking Bridge is another perfect self-care Sunday activity.

  1. Play some games at Unplugged

Unplugged is one of the newest additions to downtown Fredericton, and if you haven’t been there yet, you need to check it out. Unplugged is a board games café that has tons of games, food, and drinks. Some of the games include Settlers of Catan, Chutes and Ladders, Scrabble, and Cards Against Humanity. It’s hours of guaranteed fun - the more the merrier!

  1. Go Golfing

Looking for a fun sport that gets you outdoors? You might want to check out the multiple golf courses that Fredericton has to offer. There are so many and some of them are right on the Saint John River so it’s a win-win! You can also check out the Bucket Club on Woodstock Road for some mini-golf, our personal fav here at WYL.
