We try our best to make you feel the most like yourself in our clothing. It's important to #wearyourlabel, and a big part of that is feeling safe enough to reveal your true self. We removed the gender categories from our online store in 2015 in support of a group of high school seniors who were expelled for wearing “inappropriate” outfits according to an ancient school policy written by old dudes. Simply put, wear whatever makes you feel like yourself.
Our products further conversations, validate feelings, and hold space. Stigma still exists. It's in our group chat threads, it happens at family dinners, at job interviews, on first dates, and in situations where we wish it didn’t. The best treatment for curing Stigma is to continue to have tough but meaningful conversations.
Designed by people who live with their own mental health struggles. Their personal struggles and triumphs help define the creative direction of WYL. We try to recreate in clothing the gentle reminders we recite, or positive mantras that encouraged us to put our mental health first without feeling guilty.
